Environmental issues are managed according to MYLLYKOSKI’s sustainability policy and the ISO 14001 standard. The mills are committed to achieving continuous improvements in their processes. Continuous improvement includes annual target setting and monitoring of progress and involves all organizational levels.

Environmental targets are based on the group sustainability strategy and the environmental aspects and risks are identified by each mill. The baseline for target setting is to ensure that paper is manufactured in compliance with the environmental permits and national and local regulations. Compliance with the permit conditions is actively monitored and corrective actions are taken where necessary.
