Environmental responsibility
Continuous improvement of processes
Myllykoski’s environmental work is based on the principle of continuous improvement. Myllykoski Sustainability Policy defines the prerequisites for the work and environmental management systems translate them into practice.
Company-wide goals are set on an annual basis, defining the focus areas for everyday work. Each mill sets its own individual targets to manage material environmental issues such as climate change, the lean use of energy, water and materials, and responsible sourcing of wood raw material. The mills are committed to minimising environmental impacts through target setting, which ensures that paper is manufactured in compliance with environmental permits and national and local regulations.
A majority of Myllykoski operations have certified ISO 14001 and EMAS environmental management systems, as well as the ISO 9001 quality system and the OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety management system in place.
For more information on MYLLYKOSKI mills' environmental performance and activities, please review the company's Sustainability Report. All Myllykoski mills in Germany and Finland publish their own annual Environmental Reports. MYLLYKOSKI also uses Paper Profile environmental product declarations to communicate the environmental performance of its paper products. Paper Profile datasheets are available for all the main MY-grades.
